Audrey and I are saddened to hear of Bill passing. As with others, I first met Bill when he was a Lieutenant at the Governor's office and I was a Trooper Cadet. One morning I rode my motorcycle to work and left it in Mansion parking lot where it was raining, Bill determined it was mine and directed me to move a car out of the garage and put my mc inside and out of the rain, and expected me to continue this in the future. Bill was a lover of motorcycles as well and we had many rides together. Although a Cadet, Bill took me under his wing (so to speak) and we (including Audrey and Carol) enjoyed time together, either at his house and listening to him play on the organ, dinner rides, etc.
I see a posting from Ron Walcker - this reminded me of a spontaneous trip with the Governor to Yakima with her two dogs, Ron was transporting the Governor and Bill traveled behind with the dogs - enough said; but glad to have ear pieces for the radios...
I lost track of Bill and for that I'm sorry - he is an outstanding man with so many virtues, he will be missed by many. He made a difference in my life!!!
Thanks Bill for your years of service through the WSP to the citizens of WA State!

Memories of Bill and Dee Hooper during our years at Olympia High School - the double dates, the drag racing on local highways, the love of cars and engines. Dee connecting again with Bill when both worked at the Capitol. Friends for many many years.

Bill was assigned to be my "coach" for two weeks prior to graduation of the 40th Cadet Class at the WSP Academy, mid September 1967. We worked together in Zone One, Seattle North I-5 Freeway after our commissioning of September 29, 1967. He was a great guy, fantastic sense of humor, and excellent example for all of us newbies. I spent some time at his home in Lynnwood and bought a fine Samoyed puppy from a litter his Sammie had then. He will be greatly missed.

First met Bill in 1968. I was a new Sgt on the Seattle Freeway, Bill did not work for me but I had frequent contact with him. His potential was readily apparent and stood out immediately. Our paths crossed in later years when Bill was assigned to the governor. Bill was always a gentleman and fun to be around. I was saddened to hear of his
passing. My condolences to the family who well may be proud of the man he was.

My condolences to the family of an outstanding individual.
The two things I remember most about Bill would be his
perpetual smile and secondly, he was a good man who will be
missed by all!

To Bill's entire family...
We are so sorry to hear of your loss of Bill.
I first met Bill when I was assigned to the Governor's Mansion Security and when Governor Ray was elected in1977, Bill a sergeant at the time and was transferred to the Security Detail for the new Governor. We became friends thru that assignment for over two years and then I transferred. After that and thru the years we would hook up and have coffee and catch up about each others families. Once he showed me thru the processing of his home business Embroidering, Carol and Bill were pretty excited about it. I last saw and briefly spoke with Bill about a year ago as he was leaving and I was coming into the local Applebee's. We hugged and that was the last time we spoke. He was always a very pleasant man to visit with.
We will keep all of you, his family, in our family's daily prayers during this time of your loss of such a wonderful man.

I worked for Bill during The Governor Dixy Lee Ray days and have so many great memories and stories that it would fill a book. After retirement, we kept in touch and still enjoyed talking about many of the fun things we did. He had a brilliant mind and a very caring and loyal heart. This earth has lost a wonderful soul.
