Living so far away I missed the opportunity to have a close relationship with Howard and Emily, which is my loss. However, my memories of them are drawn from many years ago. Emily was a voice of energy, love, acceptance and tenderness. I think I could here her smile on the phone with her musical voice. Howard was the strength behind her. Dear "Uncle Bum," I gaze daily on the painting you did of your older sister, Ruth, and Nick, my parents. Now that you're all gone, it reminds me daily of the wonderful family I was privileged to belong to.
