Will is my Father and I will miss him greatly. He was diagnosed with Alzheimers disease in 1984. In 1994 he was admitted to the American Lakes Veterans Hospital where he lived until he passed away.
It was really hard to see him stripped of all his favorite possessions, his watch, glasses and the change in his pocket (which he was always giving out to the kids.) It was hard seeing such a physically active man reduced to being bed ridden for the last six years, but most of all it was hard to see him suffer needlessly for the last 6 years.
He suffers no more. His spirit soars, and his memory is etched in the hearts of those he touched and loved.
I give thanks to the Divine for Will having been my Father.
