Wilbur Edmunds' Obituary
Wilbur “Bud” J. Edmunds, 88, passed away on June 5, 2013 in University Place, WA. He was born on June 10, 1924 in Tacoma, WA to Wilbur A. and Florence M. (Niles) Edmunds.
Bud served in the U.S. Army during WWII and the U.S. Marines during the Korean Conflict. He was very honored to have served in the Army Military Police Security Detail for President Dwight D. Eisenhower.
Bud was a police officer through and through. In the 1950s he started his career with the Tacoma Police Department. In 1956, he traveled to Juneau, Alaska where he served as their Chief of Police. In 1980 Bud retired as a Captain with the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department.
During his retirement he loved traveling with his wife Esther in their R.V. They loved the R.V. lifestyle of seeing new sites and meeting new friends as they traveled through Canada, Mexico and the crisscrossing of America.
He is survived by his loving wife Esther and children Jeff (Kolleen) Edmunds, Shelley Ireland, Marvin (Judie) Kasemeier Jr., Brad (Catherine) Kasemeier, Steven (Chong) Kasemeier, and Konni (Jack) Epstein. 13 grandchildren 30 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Bud was preceded in death by his brothers Harold and Merle and sister Geraldine.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, June 15, 2013 at the Mountain View Funeral Home Celebration of Life Center Aspen Chapel.
