Cousin Wendy you will be missed! I wish I lived closer to be there to say goodbye. You were always happy and full of positivity, your love for Carlos was undeniable. I can remember all the family functions watching you curl up on the couch and reach a book all the while the family is being loud all around. The fun of the family costume parties watching you, Tyrome and Carlos coordinate was a lot of fun my favorite was you 3 being pirates! I know you are resting in the arms of the Lord, free from pain and worry! Sending my family lots of love and prayers that God may continue to wrap you up in his peace and love that surpasses all understanding....

I have known Wendy my hole life. She is one of my cousins. As kids Wendy was wild, funny, creative, and adventures. She loved to pick on me, but man let me tell you she was the only one aloud to pick on me. She would always step in and defend me if anyone else did. So you could say we had a special relationship lol. As Wendy and I became adults and had families of our own we became very close, and more great friends than just cusins. Wendy became a great person for me to confide in and talk to about anything. She always had really good things to say and was always very blunt and open about her opinions to me. She told it as it was. Wendy, Tyrome, and there kids became a close and big part of our life. Though Wendy is gone she still left part of her behind in her family that she was generous enough to shre with us. The traditions her family and mine have had now for many years will continue because I know that is what she would have wanted. Wendy is resting in peace now and one day we will all get to see her again, until then I will enjoy what she has left behind and share in more memories with them. Tyrome our love and prayers go out for you and the boys.

I was fortunate to have been able to go to the family reunion this past summer and am most grateful to have gotten to see and catch up with Wendy during this difficult time. Although I was emboldened by the resolve she and Tyrome had regarding the prognosis, I struggled to separate hope from reality. The afterlife has claimed another soul prematurely, depriving friends and family of more shared experiences, separating a husband from his life confidant, creating a void in a young man’s heart that will never close. While I haven’t been all that close to the extended Young family for a while and feel like I missed an opportunity to get to know Wendy in my adult life, I always remember Wendy being kind, jovial, and engaging with me. Tyrome and his family are in my thoughts and I do hope Wendy can rest in peace.
