Wendell was a good neighbor for more than 20 years and always cheerful with his positive attitude. I saw him frequently playing with his dog, 'Kilty' or neighborhood dogs. Other times he would be working in the orchard or with his bees. He loved to garden, but claimed there was not enough sun in his yard.
One day he was working his beehives when he dropped one. I heard a yell, and he was running crazily in and out of bushes - trying to keep the bees off. Despite numerous stings, he was OK.
Another day I was watching TV and thought I heard something. I stepped outside - nothing. Back in to watch TV and heard it again. Outside - nothing. Third time - nothing. Turned out that Wendell was stuck on his roof & could not get down!
I bought his property, and found he was as bad a hoarder as any on the TV shows. Twenty-one huge truckloads of trash were hauled off. I hope he would approve that it is now a community garden (with sun) and wildlife habitat area - all still under development. I captured numerous night critters on camera, including deer, coyote, skunk. I am posting some pictures.
