Dear Wes,
It was with profound sadness that we read of Wayne’s passing. Please extend our sympathies to his family and express our sincere appreciation for the role Wayne played in the redevelopment of TacomaÂ’s waterfront. He served with great distinction during his career with the sheriffÂ’s department and carried that sense of public service into his retirement and private life. Wayne gave us key information and insight to marina issues and kept us focused on what would be important to the boating public. Besides, he was just plain fun to work with and a delight to know. A truly wonderful man and important member of our community. We will all miss him.
Sincerely,
Don Meyer

Wayne was our dockmate at Totem Marina in Tacoma. He recruited us into the Totem Yacht Club. He then became the Clubs Commodore. We have seen his life change and sadly end. Most of all we will miss seeing him on the docks. He would finish whatever he was doing at his boat then stop by our boat for a chat. It isn't as much fun on the docks with out him. I have many fond memories of spending time with Wayne and family, the best were fishing (the 'worst' was boating, and that was great!)! Always good for a laugh or smile, he will be missed.##imported-begin##Bob Phillips##imported-end##
So sorry to learn of Wayne's passing. It was so nice to have seen them at the PHS class reunion in August of 2001. May Wayne and Wes
rest in peace together.##imported-begin##Lorna Shaw##imported-end##
Though we were never real close or spent a lot of time together you have always been family. The only thoughts that come to mind are your among the angels now. There is no more pain only sunshine and peace. Give grandma, grandpa and the rest a hug for me. If you should meet my Michael tell him I love him. Even though you've gone home you will always be remembered.
Your Niece

You have joined mom,dad and the other boys, but I will love you till eternity and beyond. Marlene wrote the poem below for me to describe how I feel.
Your pain and suffering now are through for
God's angels came and smiled on you
You left us with special memories of childhood days and the fun we
shared
Memories of your gentleness, love and courage
Though your gone the memories will live on and make us strong
Your loving sis
