Walter Hermes' Obituary
Walter Emmerson Hermes, 76 of Edgewood, Washington died Monday, January 22, 2007 in his home. He was born Dec. 27, 1930 in Pekin, Ill, the son of the late William and Alice Hermes. He graduated from Pekin High School in 1951 and married his high school sweetheart, Joyce Eggena on Dec 7. 1952. They moved to Juneau, Alaska with their two children in 1960 where he worked for the State of Alaska before retiring in 1980 and moving to Versailles, MO. In 1993 he moved to Edgewood, WA where he lived with his son and family. He was preceded in death by his wife Joyce and infant son, Daniel as well as his two brothers Eugene and William HermesSurviving family members include his sons Dennis Hermes (wife Linnea) of Edgewood, WA and Robin Hermes of Panguitch, UT; Sister Clara Mabee of Pekin, Ill; Grandchildren, Trista Burns, Creighton Hermes, Rory Hermes and Jeremy Hermes as well as 5 great grandchildren and several grand nieces and nephews.Viewing will be from 12:00-9:00, Thursday, January 25, 2007 at Mountain View Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 PM, Friday, January 26, 2007 in the Mountain View Garden Chapel. Graveside services will be at the Greenmore Memorial Gardens, in Barnett, Missouri on Tuesday, January 30, 2007 at 1:00 PM. Arrangements for interment will be under the direction of Scrivner Funeral Home.At the request of the family, please send donations in WalterÂ's name to the Polio Outreach of Washington, 4704 235th St. E., Spanaway, WA 98387 in lieu of flowers.
