Violette Dorothy Gilliland's Obituary
Violette Skusek -Gilliland, Born April 14, 1924 in Chicago, Illinois went to be with the lord on January 19, 2016. She is the second child of Theresa Perinovic and Marko Krajnovich. Vi began her career by joining the US Navy where she worked as the first female Atomic Hydrogen welder during world war II. Many solders referred to her as Hedy Lamarr, but it was one lucky soldier that won her heart. In 1945, she married the love of her life John Skusek. Together they had three children and enjoyed camping, prospecting, and dancing. They were married over 35 years before Violette became a widow. After retirement, she kept busy working at the Puyallup Fair for 12 years, volunteering at Good Sam Hospital, and joining the Eagles. Her hobbies included traveling, painting, doll making, gardening, and spending time with her family. Preceded in death Husband & Children's Father John Skusek, Husband, Jack Gililand, Sister Ann Dion, & Daughter Margo Johnson. Survived by Daughter, Kathleen Erickson, (Allan), Son, John Skusek (Linda), Grandsons, Mike Johnson (Jennifer), Robert Lee, & John Skusek, Granddaughter, Joanne Skusek, Great Grandchildren, Alex Johnson, Margo Johnson, Mason Schwartznau & Nephew, Fred Skusek, her loved Dogs, Lola & Annie. We love you and will miss you always!

Memorial Services at Mt. View Funeral Home, on Saturday, Feb. 13th at 11:00 am in the Garden Chapel. Reception to follow at The Celebration of Life Building in the Oak Room.
