Vernon V. Harris Jr.Born in Tacoma on January 9, 1946; passed away suddenly April 16, 2003 at his home in Roy. After graduating from Franklin Pierce High he served in the Navy, and then worked several years at St. Regis before entering into Ironwork. He recently retired after 25 years as an ironworker to continue his avid love for hunting, fishing and hiking.Vern was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon V. (Tug) and Alma E. Harris.He is survived by daughter, Chimene Harris; son, Sampson Harris; grandson, Jarran Harris; and sister, Gaye Harris.Viewing will be 11 am to 9 pm, Monday, April 21, 2003 at Mt. View Funeral Home.Funeral services will be held at 2 pm, April 22, 2003 in the Valley Chapel, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd, SW, Tacoma.
