Trooper Tony Radulescu's Obituary
On February 23, 2012 God welcomed our beloved Tony to heaven to be with him. Born August 7, 1967 in Bucharest, Romania, Tony came to the United States on December 7, 1981 and became a US Citizen. He graduated from Harrison High School in Trenton, NJ in June 1986. Tony enlisted in the United States Army in June of 1986 and was active duty until 2007. During this time he fought in The 1st Gulf War. Tony received numerous awards to include the Army Service Ribbon, Army Lapel Button, Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Army Achievement Medal and Army Commendation Medal. In 1994 Tony went to the Army Reserves until his retirement as a Sergeant First Class, E7, in 2008. In 1995, Tony was hired by the Washington State Patrol and was commissioned out of the 97th Trooper Class on July 31, 1996. During the time with the WSP, Tony received numerous awards for outstanding service and achievement. Trooper Tony, as he is affectionately known as, served the citizens of Washington State with pride, commitment and bravery. He loved the job and the people he protected.
He enjoyed playing sports, hiking, taking walks and playing racquet ball. Tony loved to watch sports, especially the New York Giants and Seattle Sounders. He was an avid collector of coins, vintage model cars, knives, swords and dragons. He loved to play rock band and sing the 80’s music, have barbeques with friends and was always telling a funny story or a joke.
Always a contagious smile, fun loving spirit and love of life, Tony touched everyone he met. Tony was a loving devoted father and son, supportive and loving brother and uncle, and a true soul mate.
Tony is survived by his son Erick, of Fort Lewis, Father Leslie and mother Maria of Arizona, brothers George (Tete) and Mario (Mona) both of Arizona, a sister Dianna of New Jersey, two nieces Little Toni and Stephanie of Arizona and his soul mate Gina Miller and numerous friends in Kitsap County.
A Public Memorial will be held on Thursday March 1, 2012 at Sho-Ware Center in Kent beginning at 1pm.
There has been a memorial fund set up in Trooper Tony’s name at any Key Bank or you can drop it by any WSP office.
