Tonja Anna Marie Johnson's Obituary
Sunflower;
Longing for the sun.
For so long now.
Kept stumbling into night.
Just didn't know how.
But I never gave up.
Just had to keep going.
To find that place beyond pain.
With sunflowers growing.
Then, darkness was shattered.
Never knew it was coming.
Found that place beyond pain.
With a sunlight so stunning.
I'm removing my shoes now.
To feel the grass between toes.
I'll follow that butterfly.
Just to see where it goes.
And as I reflect on my old life.
Where the sun rarely shone.
I realize in that moment.
I was never alone.
I know I'm leaving you behind.
But what else can I do?
"Father, please watch over them
Until they come here, too"
