Thomas Young Jr. 2/7/1937 - 11/29/2009
Thomas was born in Moscow, AR to Elnora and Thomas Young. After 72 years of life, Thomas died peacefully with his children and grandchildren by his side. Early in Thomas' 20-year career in the USAF, he was stationed in Portland, OR, where he met his soul-mate and future wife, Nellie Jean Fuller. His military career took him to Oregon, Florida, the Philippine Islands, Taiwan, and Washington. Following his military career, he opened T. Young's Barber Shop in Tacoma. He is now reunited with his soul-mate and wife of more than 50 years, Nellie, his parents Thomas and Elnora Young, brothers James, Albert, Roosevelt, and Joseph, and sisters Patricia Anne and Willie Mae.
He is survived by his son Tony, daughters Joyce (Michael Dingus), Renita K., and Yolanda (Vernon) Young-Dae, granddaughter I'Asia Richardson, grandsons Jontae Richardson and Ari Young-Jones, brothers Larry, Melvin, David, and Edward, sisters Maple, Ella Mae, Renita Jean, and Allison, numerous in-laws who held a special place in his heart, nieces, nephews, and close friends.
Viewing is Thursday, December 3, 2-9 PM, at Mountain View Funeral Home, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. in Lakewood, where the Home Going Celebration will be held on Friday, December 4, 2009 at 11 AM.
