Uncle Tommy was laughing in the bathroom one day about 30 years ago. Grandma, his mom, knocked on the door wondering if he was okay since he’d been in there laughing for about 20 minutes. He came out with tears in his eyes, he had been laughing so hard. He had just gotten dentures and was taking them out of his mouth to make faces of himself in the mirror. That moment encapsulates how fun Uncle Tommy really was. Full of life and love.

You guys call him Tom but I have always called him Tommy. As a young girl Tommy was my special older brother. I remember laughing and cuddling with him in the mornings as a little girl. He made us giggle by making his arm muscle jump when I laid my head on it. I can still remember his crazy laugh. Funny! He remains the brother I looked up to for the remainder of my life. He would send me emails and call or text on special occasions. I always enjoyed those so much. When I returned from Desert Storm he took the time one evening to have me over - to share some of his Vietnam experiences as a Green Beret (wow); I felt our closeness in that evening and know in my heart that he only shared it so I would share my experiences of the war and he could check in to make sure his little Debbie was ok. I understood his feelings probably more than some - we were very much alike and feel very blessed to have him as my big brother. I will love my Tommy always!
Not really if this was very high on Tommy's memories but I think he had a good time when he was onboard The Battleship Missouri when we sailed from Seattle to Bremerton. I really enjoyed showing off ''my ship'' to him and his daughters, Natasha and Louisa along with our sister Terri Lynn.. I think we all had a good time.. Rest in Piece big brother, Dwight
