Sylvia Gaylene Hamilton's Obituary
Sylvia Gaylene Hamilton, with her friends and family at her side, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2008. She was born on October 30, 1943 to Gayle and Ruth Alcoke. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Gary Hamilton. She is survived by her daughter Brandy (Robert) Lehman, son Tim (Jill) Hamilton, Mother in law Marjorie Hamilton and Judi and Jack Hamilton. Sylvia leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. She is most proud of her grandchildren, Alexis Lehman, Alexis Pond, Reeves Lehman and Annie Lehman. Sylvia dedicated her life to children as a Special Education teacher for over 30 years, and the majority of those years at Graham Elementary. She was known for her kindness, gentle patience, generosity and sense of humor. Sylvia always put her children and family before herself. She also LOVED animals, and was known to have a petting zoo in her classroom along with a variety of animals at home. Sylvia treasured the time that she was able to spend in Hawaii; it was a time that her friends and family knew she felt at home. A very special thank you goes out to the team at St. Joseph Dialysis Unit along with Dr. Thomas Martin and Carol Kinzner. Their extraordinary care for over 10 years will be remembered by her friends and family. A wife, a mother, a daughter, a grandmother, a teacher, a friend and a dedicated Mariner's fan will be sorely missed. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests a donation to the National Kidney Foundation www.kidney.org or New Life Mobility Assistance Dog Program www.nlmad.org . Memorial service will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 19, 2008 at the Mt. View Valley Chapel.
