Susan Hansen's Obituary
Susan Hansen, beloved wife,
daughter, mother, grandmother, and hairdresser of
over 50 years, lost her two
year battle with pancreatic
cancer on January 24, 2022.
Susan attended Wilson
High School, graduating
class of 1968, and then attended cosmetology school
before becoming a hairdresser, connecting her to many
clients who became some
of her closest friends. She
married the love of her life
and high school sweetheart,
Norm, in 1972. They would
have celebrated their 50th
wedding anniversary together this coming March. You
could always count on Susan
to be talking Husky or Seahawk football with family,
friends, and her clients, and
she had been a devoted University of Washington Football season ticket holder for
over 25 years. She loved the
warm weather and being near
the water, spending most of
the summertime at her vacation home at Sunland Estates
in Eastern Washington on the
Columbia River. She regularly found a respite from the
Northwest winter by spending time with close friends
in Bucerias, Mexico. You
could reliably find Susan
raising a fine glass of wine
with friends or wine tasting
with those she loved most.
Susan’s pride and joy has
always been her family. She
was preceded in death by her
father Harry Hallberg, and is
survived by her loving husband Norm, mother Beverly,
children Ross (Alexis) and
Hailey (Jeremy), sister Cher- yl, and 4 granddaughters
Blakely, Merloe, Layton, and
Dylan.
In lieu of flowers, please
consider a donation in her
name to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network at www.
pancan.org, or buy yourself a
great bottle of wine to enjoy
in her memory.
