Steward A. Wegener's Obituary
A Good Man, Son, Brother, Father and Friend, Passed away at home on Thursday, February 6, 2014.
Born in Twin Falls, Idaho August 22, 1928 to Faye and Albert Wegener. Stew grew up on the family farm, went to Twin Falls High School and attended the College of Idaho. A “natural born athlete,” he enjoyed sports as a competitor and an avid spectator throughout his life. He loved the game of golf spending time on courses around the Northwest with his buddies. His hobbies included antiquing and afternoon movies, especially cowboy movies. He had a contagious smile and was known for his humor as well as his love of family and friends.
Stew moved to Lakewood, Washington in 1956 with his family. Completing his broker’s studies in 1957, he started his career as a proud Realtor. Never retiring, enduring the ups and downs of the real estate market, he became one of the most experienced Realtors in Tacoma-Pierce County. He touched many lives, helping families finding their first and subsequent homes, finding that right spot for a client’s new business or development, and mentoring new Realtors on how to meet their client’s needs.
Survived by sons John Wegener (Debbie) and David Wegener and grandchildren, Kelsey and Gregory; his significant other Lynn Cory and her children Rod Cory (Kelly) and Julie Seidel (Jeff) and their children Justin, Allison, Katie and Maddie; and his sister Grace Christensen (Carl). He was preceded in death by his sister Betty Tucker and Grandson Alec Wegener.
The family would like to thank his many friends, Allen Realtors, and Franciscan Hospice for their friendship, compassion and professional care.
A Memorial Service will be held on March 1. 2014, at 1:00 PM.
