SSG Christopher Ryan West (23) went to be with our Lord unexpectedly on Friday, 27 January 2006 at Fort Lewis, Washington. Chris was born 28 June 1982 in Tampa, Florida to MSGT and Mrs. Franklin & Patricia (Bateman) West. He joined the Army on 28 June 2000 and married Elizabeth Anne Corey on 14 April 2004. Chris is survived by his wife Elizabeth, his parents Frank and Pat, and his brother Mathew all from Gresham, Oregon; his grandparents Harris and Betty Bateman of Troutdale, Oregon, and James and Irma West of Union Gap, Washington; and numerous other family members and friends.Chris served his country proudly doing what he loved.Viewing will be held from noon Â- 8:00 PM on Sunday, 5 February 2006 at Mountain View Funeral Home. Funeral services, with Military Honors, will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, 6 February 2006 at the Main Post Chapel on Fort Lewis.The family ask that donations in lieu of flowers be made to the Red Cross or the U.S.O.
