Hi, my name is Don caturia. I met Johnny at clover park high school .and graduated in his class of 81. A really great guy. We both drove Mustang's And in 1985 I moved down the street from his parents house on Glenwood. I had the privilege of meeting his parents, super great people. And I had the privilege of helping them when the kids were not around at the time , to be able to work around the house and to work on their vehicles. They were great people I had a lot of respect for Mom and Dad Hyde. I always got a chance to call them up and wish them happy Mother's Day and Happy Father's Day. They always treated me like family. One of the many special times , I was needed , was to look at the old Dodge truck that mr. Hyde had for a very long time, it was a part of the family, he said it was losing oil, he wasn't seeing it on the dipstick. That didn't sound right, I just changed the oil about two months prior. So I ran dow and took a look at it. I smelled a strong odor. I inspected it and found out the fuel pump went bad and filled the whole Engine with gasoline, I said that's why you could not see oil on the dipstick. I drained 18 quarts of gas out of the engine block, it only holds 6 quarts of oil, wow, it was a bomb ready to go off, if it started. Luckily and blessings the spark plugs were fouled due to all the gasoline. I was able to get it flushed and cleaned out and got it back running like new again. He really appreciated that. I have a lot of great memories of mrs. and mr. Hyde. may they rest in peace.
My sympathy and love for the family.
Sincerely,
Donnie Caturia
