Shirley was my mom's first cousin. My husband and I got to know her a number of years ago when her dad first came to live in Tacoma. She was a lovely woman, and we liked John and her so much. I was very saddened to learn that she had died. She lived an amazing and adventurous life, and I'm sorry we didn't get to share more of it.
