Sherry Ann Johnson's Obituary
Sherry Ann Johnson passed away peacefully Oct. 18, 2005 at home in the loving arms of her husband and family. For 3 1/2 years she courageously fought ovarian cancer. Born May 10, 1940 in Jacksonville, Illinois. Sherry married Gordon Edward Johnson from Morris, Illinois. With every possession owned in a U-Haul trailer, Gordon and Sherry, with child and toddler in hand, joined her parents in Tacoma.Sherry had many interests, as well as being an accomplished artist, she helped at T.A.C.I.D. with C.F.I.D.S. and Fibromyalgia Support Group. Her goals were to help people suffering from the decease receive information on Doctors, treatments in our area.When the family was young we enjoyed camping, her favorite places being Oregon beaches and Sand Dunes.SherryÂ's love of nature and the Pacific Northwest came out in her art work. She worked with natural fibers as a weaver and fiber artist and basket weaver for years, and showed and sold her pieces in exhibits, galleries, and custom art studios in Washington and Oregon.The last few years her passion had turned to quilting. She blanketed her family with the most beautiful quilts. We will cherish them in memory of her.She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Helen and Warren Coulson, and survived by husband of 49 years, Gordon E. Johnson; son Guy (Tessie) Johnson, daughters Paula (Jeff) Bernhoft and Tina (David) Ellestad, grandchildren Geremy, Greg and Lyssa Johnson, and Jacob, Joshua and Jonah Ellestad.In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations be made to Hospice or T.A.C.I.DÂ's CFIDS and Fibromyalgia Support Group.Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, October 31st, 2005 in the Mountain View Garden Chapel. Gathering to follow in the Oak room.
