I am so sorry to hear of Sherry's death. I also have ovarian cancer and I am in the ovarian cancer survivor group. I didn't get to know Sherry but I have heard the other women speak of her. I wish I could have met her. May her quilts bring you many wonderful memories.##imported-begin##Judi From##imported-end##
I first met Sherry when she came to the Ovarian Cancer Support group at St. Joseph's Hospital. Later she and I would drive to Silverdale for the support group that met at the new Harrison Hospital.
Sherry would keep a lively conversation going and always had an opinion on every subject. This helped the miles fly by. I was so sorry to read of her passing and my heart goes out to her family.##imported-begin##Shirley Inveen##imported-end##
Never let Sherry's size belie her character. Sherry was the real deal. There was no pretense with Sherry. She was honest to a fault. Sherry was opinionated but left the door open for discovery. She was a mentor. She knew how to make others laugh and was not afraid to laugh at herself. She loved and cared for her family, her home and her mother. Sherry's talents knew no boundries and at toward the end became her escape. Even in illness she reached out and held a Bible study in her home. Sherry will be missed and remembered by all those whose life she touched.##imported-begin##Maryann Holl##imported-end##
Sherry was the first to welcome us into our new neighborhood many years ago. Her smile and sincerity have been ever present in our lives since then. She has been a willing and supportive person with our yearly garage sales to benefit the American Cancer Society, coming and adding her inspiration even when she was often undergoing chemo treatments.
Our prayers and hugs go to Gordy and her dear family. We will miss Sherry, her laughter and her caring and her involvement in life.##imported-begin##Nancy and Elwood Covey##imported-end##
It was as a CFIDS support group leader that I first met Sherry. I was always glad for her cheerful leadership in helping people in Tacoma learn to cope with their CFIDS and FM and to become active partners in their own healthcare.
As a quilter I was inspired by the beautiful and creative quilts she made. That seemed to fit with her outlook on life...not to focus on the negatives like her health issues but rather to look for and create beauty in life.
Sherry will be missed but I take comfort in knowing that many peoples lives are better for having known her along the way.

For me, Sherry will always be part of the Puyallup Fair, the Fiberstore, her weaving and baskets. I prize the basket in my bedroom, and know the hours of her life spent with her craft are appreciated in many homes. She was always so much fun to work with!##imported-begin##Betty Bell##imported-end##
