Sheila Kay Cervantes' Obituary
Sheila Kay (Sigafoos) Cervantes was born April 1, 1948 in Puyallup, WA. She passed away at Puyallup’s Good Samaritan Hospital on March 22, 2019 following a short battle with cancer.
Sheila graduated from Puyallup High School in 1966 and found a satisfying career as an orthodontic assistant in Tacoma until retirement several years ago. Post-retirement she was often busy caring for others…her mother, neighbors, and friends. She also enjoyed working for many years with her nephew’s art glass business, selling glass pumpkins at Fall weekend fairs around the Puget Sound area.
Sheila was a loving and attentive mom and an enthusiastic grandma. Granddaughter Olivia had her own room at Sheila’s house and the two were very close, often enjoying games and arts and craft projects together.
Sheila will be deeply missed by her daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter, Kristy, Jay and Olivia Wilson. Others who loved her very much are her brothers Jay Sigafoos and Roger Sigafoos and their spouses, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Her family and friends all treasure their memories of Sheila’s cheerful, funny, teasing, hard-working and caring personality. The end of her life was marked by the same positivity that characterized her manner all of her days.
A memorial service to honor Sheila’s life will be held graveside at Tacoma’s Mountain View Cemetery at 10:00 am on Saturday April 27 with a reception to follow onsite. Family and friends are invited to attend.
