I remember when Lorraine and Sam came to visit in Dallas, and Sam spent most of his "vacation" painting my house. He showed his love by the things he did for people, and I can picture him in heaven right now, making swing sets for any kid who wants one.
I know he was so proud of his family and the things they have accomplished, and he will live on through his spirit in each of you.
For Mike, Cindy, Ben, Deon and Mitch: know how much he loved you, and remember him for all that he gave you -- independence and security, a footing from which to tackle the world. His legacy will be every time you pass these qualities on to others.

Through out the many years of knowing Sam (papaw) he has always been a person that has been fair, fun loving and easy going. Sam will always be remembered for the jolly laughs, love, joy and giant bear hugs that he offered to our family and his granddaughter Rachel. We will never forget the Easters in the back yard or the "petrefied" candy that he would trick every grandkid into trying to eat. Nor everything that he has done to keep family together. God bless you all. If there is anything that we can do just let us know.
