Ruth Goodwin Pflugmacher's Obituary
Ruth was born in Tacoma, WA. Her father, Richard Goodwin, was a member of a pioneer Roy family. Her mother, Ada, emigrated from England. Ruth graduated from Lincoln High School and PLU. She married Emery Pflugmacher in 1936. Ruth spent many years teaching school at Lacamas and Collins schools in Pierce County, and at Roosevelt and Whitman schools in Tacoma. She and Emery spent over 30 years after her retirement in 1973 wintering in Southern California. She loved to square dance and was active in Ivy Chapter of Eastern Star. One of Ruth and EmeryÂ's biggest joys were their many trips traveling throughout the world. Ruth also took great pleasure in her nephews and nieces and their children, often taking them on trips with her. She was preceded in death by her husband Emery, brother Art Smith, and sister Mabel Matthews. She is survived by sister Marie Morgan; nephews, Dick Morgan (Susan), and Don Morgan (Reenie); nieces, Colleen Hitchcock (Bob), Elaine Wick (Jim), and Bev Trauba; special grand nephews and nieces: Richie and Casey Morgan, Greg, Brad, Kristen, Stephen, and Madison Hitchcock, Jamie Wick, and Lindsey, Brett, Joel, and Kyle Trauba.Funeral services will be 2pm, Friday, April 9, 2004 in the Mt. View Garden Chapel.
