I am so sorry, I think that somehow I must have missed the original obituary in the paper. (Sometimes I am not right on top of stuff ! ... or, I did see it and have forgotten that I commented anything !!) Mrs. Pflugmacher was my 5th and 6th grade teacher at Roosevelt Elementary ... late 50's. Of all the teachers I ever, ever had, if someone asked me who was the best/made learning the most enjoyable/left the biggest impression/my favorite teacher of all, I would always say Mrs. Pflugmacher. Those two school years I spent with her left a HUGE mark on my life. Not the least of which were the pronunciation of "pitcher" vs "picture", "poor" vs "pour", "February" vs "February", etc. (Not to mention that I will never forget "Ciribiribin" and how difficult that song was !) Then, lo and behold, our oldest son attended kindergarten at Lowell (maybe '78-79') and his teacher was "Miss Pflugmacher". Wow, it was obvious that the good teaching stuff seemed to run in the family !
