Dr. Rufino Ramos MD's Obituary
Rufino Recardo Ramos was born on August 19, 1933 in Pampanga, Philippines. He enjoyed village life as a young child in a loving and growing family, but the formative years came hard and fast on December 7, 1941, when Japanese forces bombed their neighborhood. Along with his mother and three younger siblings, he fled for his life. On that day, as a third grader, Rufino began his journey into manhood, stepping into the role of protector as the oldest male in the family.
After helping his family survive World War II, Rufino’s work ethic and desire to help others became the hallmark of his life. He went on to medical school, then to a residency in the United States, and worked as a psychiatrist until his final day of practice at the age of 85.
He is lovingly survived by his wife, Judy; his children, Maria (Robbie) and Paul (Angela); and his cherished grandchildren, Luna, Zidane, Jude, and Ilios, who brought immense joy to his life. He joins his beloved parents, Agustin and Jesusa. He was one of eleven siblings: Lolita, Loreto, Delfin, Amelita, Joseph, Esther, Agustin, Rodrigo, Violeta, and Milagros. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his family, whose lives he touched with wisdom, kindness, and unwavering love.
A visitation will be held from 12:00 to 7:00 p.m. on August 30, 2025, at Mountain View Cemetery. A rosary and blessing will take place at 1:00 p.m.
Graveside service will be held on Friday, September 19, 2025, at 10:30 A.M. at Mountain View Memorial Park, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. SW, Lakewood, WA 98499. All family and guests will gather inside the main lobby before the graveside.
