Rosario Thomas Miceli(a.k.a. R. Tom Miceli)Â"Drywalling in HeavenÂ"Loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, died peacefully at home with his family at his side on Oct. 11, 2002. Tom loved his family and friends. He also loved drywall, sports and traveling.Born June 6, 1923 in New York City, he was very active with sports in his youth. He loved to play baseball and basketball. He left New York in 1942 and joined the Navy to fight in WWII. He returned to Montana where he drove taxi and dabbled in drywall. In 1949 he had his first child, daughter Debra. He was called to serve in the Navy once again, and served in the Korean War. In 1956, after leaving the Navy he met his wife of 45 years, Mel Miceli. He had 2 children, Thomas B. and Elizabeth. After many partners and business opportunities, he started his own business, Superior Drywall, in 1962 with $1. The rest is history.Tom was a member of the Tacoma Athletic Comm. (TAC), Elks #174, and South Tacoma Eagles Aerie 2933. He is survived by his wife, Mel Miceli, daughters Debra Miceli and Elizabeth Larson (Tim) and son Tom Miceli (Karen), sister, Serina Angrisani of New York. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.Because of his love for youth and sports, in lieu of flowers please send donations to: TAC, Athletic Scholarship/R. Tom Miceli, PO Box 11304, Tacoma, WA 98411.Memorial Services will be held at All Saints Episcopal Church, 205 96th St E, Tacoma on Wednesday, October 16, 2002 at 1pm.
