Dear Mel & Family,
I'm Sorry that I was not able to attend the Memorial Service for Tom as I was in St Louis, MO. I want you to know that my thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this very sad time.
I will always remember Tommy with a smile. He was such a great person. Never thinking of himself, but always thinking of others. I truly enjoyed being his friend.
On behalf of the Tacoma Athletic Commission I want you to know that we'll miss Tom emensly. We'll always remember Tom as a true friend, not only to us but also to the youth & the community that we are serving. Especially those boxers who have participated in our Golden Gloves program over the year's.
In closing let me say that Tommy was a true inspiration and a true friend & that I'll never forget him.
Following every TAC meeting I will raise my glass in a toast to Tommy a great man and a great friend.
with Sympathy your Friend,
Tony Anderson##imported-begin##Tony Anderson##imported-end##

Dear Mel, Debra, Tom & Karen, Liz & Tim, and extended family members,
We are all bleesed to have know such a proud and sharing man. Tom Sr. worked so hard for everything and it showed. We always felt welcomed in every opportunity to visit.
Over thirty years ago Tom opened the gates to his backyard and allowed neighborhood children to play. We knew he was a special person.
Sponsoring sports teams kept many off the streets and provided an avenue for fun.
Everyone misses those that do the most for others. We will all truly miss Tom.
The gates of heaven have opened for Tom as he rejoices.

Mel, Deb, Tom, Liz, and family,
My thoughts are with all of you. Tom was a good man; a fine father, husband, and friend who made everyone feel welcome. Some of my fondest memories are of the summertime parties at your home.
I know he's in a good place... Floating in the pool... Sipping on something cool... Forever the captain of his ship...
INVICTUS
Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.
In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.
Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.
It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

I am very sorry to hear of Tom's passing. As a young man I met Tom while managing the GTS Drywall store in Tacoma. Tom treated me better then anyone else I met in the area and I have never forgotten that. I will always remember him.
Sincerely,
Guy W. Sims##imported-begin##Guy W. Sims##imported-end##
Tom, I was saddened to hear of the passing of your father. When I was a kid, It was always "Big T" who made sure I had Tacoma Tigers tickets or tickets to the golden gloves. I could always count on him to be at our office everyday to share a joke and tell me stories about the old days. I still remember the look on his face the day I gave him a NY Yankee hat signed by Hall of famer Billy Martin. It was the least I could do to repay him for everything he did for me. He will be missed.##imported-begin##Greg Erwin##imported-end##
Dear Mel, Debbie, Tom, Liz and extended family,
Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
We will forever remember our great friend, Tom.
He was the "BEST" boss ever!
