Roosevelt Littlejohn's Obituary
Roosevelt Littlejohn passed away peacefully on November 29, 2020. He was born on May 9, 1931 in Bryan, Texas to George and Ella Beatrice Littlejohn. He proudly and valiantly served our nation in the US Army for over 20 years. He received a Bronze Star medal for his service during the Vietnam War; and retired soon after as a 1st Sergeant (E8) from the 4th Infantry Division at Fort Lewis, now known as Joint Base Lewis – McChord. After retirement, Roosevelt served as a lay pastor of Grace United Methodist Church in Tacoma for many years. He loved caring for his church family, especially preparing barbecue ribs for them.
Roosevelt is survived by his lovely wife, Ruby; sister Delores George; son, Charles Littlejohn (Elizabeth); daughters, Marilyn Littlejohn, Beverly Chambers (Arthur Jr.) and Deborah Chambers (Michael); and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Roosevelt enjoyed people. He was a great conversationalist. He will be missed by many.
Roosevelt will be buried with military honors, with arrangements coordinated by Mountain View Funeral Home in Tacoma, WA. His family will hold a private service for him at a later date.
