Life can be so strange at times. I have remembered for many years a chance encounter in 1955 with Ssgt Ronald E Tree from his association with the Ground Observer Corps.
We met on the top of Mount Utsayantha in Stamford, New York. We spoke for a while about the USAF and I am sure he had something to do with my enlistment in the Air Force in 1960. There are thousands of names I have forgotten over the years and why I should remember his, and why I would google it today, finding this notice of his passing, I shall never understand.
I recall him as an easy person to know, with impeccable military bearing, who left an indelible impression on a young kid that lasted a lifetime.
I am so sorry for your loss; he was a great man.
