Ronald Thornton Smith I, born April 11, 1945 in North Arlington, NJ, passed away December 13, 2003 in Lakewood, WA. He was 58 years of age. Ronald served his country proudly in the United States Navy for 4 years during Vietnam. He retired from Qwest as a telephone technician after 34 years, was a member of the Telephone Pioneers, and he loved to fish.He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Freda Smith; children, Frederick M. Smith, Ronald T. Smith II, William J.A. Smith (Cynthia), and James A.B. Smith (Maureen); 2 grandchildren, William and Catriona; 3 step-grandchildren, Jessica, Christiana, and Shannon; as well as extended family and friends.Visitation will be from 2 PM until 9 PM, Monday, December 15, 2003 at Mt. View Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10 AM, Tuesday, December 16, 2003 at the Mt. View Valley Chapel. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
