I am so sorry to hear about Ron's passing. My Dad thought a lot of Ron (Smitty) and the years he worked with him at the phone company. Ron is now with my Dad (Larry Walker) in heaven. I am very saddened to hear of the passing of Ron T Smith. I would like to extend my sincere sympathy to his wife Freda, and family.
I have known Ron for over thirty years at the phone company. Ron was on the same crew from the Trafton A garage when I fist became an installer. Ron was always bigger than life. His gusto and passion for the job was always amazing to me. Whenever the company wanted someone to try a new test set, meter, or "gadget", Ron always was called upon to debug it. He was an outstanding employee who always strived to give the customer good service as well as help and tutor his fellow employees. I will always fondly remember Ron, his unmistakable laugh, his always beaming smile, he was surely a legend in his own time.
