Bob Craven here. Just discovered this notice about Ron's death purely by accident. Wonderful guy and great teammate--I was also on that state championship basketball team. After he attended our 40th reunion, I tried to reestablish contact w/him unsuccessfully as I was living only about a half hour's drive away. My condolences and best wishes to all his family.
My Uncle Ronnie was always fun and amazing. I always remember his big smile beaming everywhere.
We moved to the east coast and lost touch with family, but He will always be a bright memory in my childhood.
I lived a block from Ron when he and I were in high school. The best time of my life. I had moved there from Massachusetts. I loved his family. They treated me like their son. I was the basketball manager and Ron was the center. The team of 1963 at North Eugene High won the state championship. Happy to have been a part of that experience.
