Thoughts and prayers to each of the members of Ron and Betty's family. I worked with Ron for 5 years at McNeil and valued his wise counsel and friendship during those years. He was wonderful at what he did and gave the inmates hope for a better future by providing them with skills.
I left the island in 1985 but Ron and I have kept in touch throughout the years - I called him within the last month to touch base and we talked about various staff and inmates and it was a wonderful conversation.
He was a fine man and I really enjoyed knowing him. I also met Betty a few times and she was truly the love of his life.
To Karen, congratulations on your many successes in your career - your dad was proud of you, and told many stories about each of your siblings and, of course, his grandchildren.
May his memory be eternal.
