Robin Christine Blomberg's Obituary
Robin C. Blomberg, 71, of Steilacoom passed away on October 13, 2020. Born October 4, 1949, Robin grew up in the Tieton/Yakima area and graduated from Central Washington University with a degree in education. She thoroughly enjoyed her college years.
Robin was a dedicated teacher for over 40 years in the Bethel School District. In 1997 she went back to school for a master’s in technology to better prepare her students for the computer age. If you were in her class, you were her priority. She would do everything in her power to help students succeed and had a large toolbox to meet their needs. Robin kept in contact with many students and families over the years, and occasionally former students would stop by to visit. She continued to substitute teach for several years after her retirement.
Robin was a fiercely independent woman. She was always on the go. She loved to shop. She found great deals at Costco and McLendon Hardware. In tough times she became a personal shopper for more than one friend – keeping track of every penny.
Robin had a love of power tools. She also had a very green thumb. Her flowers and vegetables were worthy of a blue ribbon. She generously shared them with friends and neighbors.
Robin was an adventurer. She loved to travel - Mexico, Canada, Hawaii, or just down the road to Poulsbo. Robin was ready to go. She had a special love of the ocean and spent happy days at Westport, Ocean Shores, and Cannon Beach to name a few. Robin bought a side-by-side to drive on the beach. She sported that award-winning smile every time she talked about this vehicle.
Robin was altruistic at heart. She gave many gifts, mostly anonymously to schools, service clubs and other worthy projects.
Robin loved and was loved by her medical providers. She cherished them. They, too, became family. She was a dedicated advocate for patient care and best practices. She was an actively involved member of the Kidney Network. She spoke at conferences and wrote newsletter articles.
She leaves behind friends she considered her family. We will miss her grit, her smile, her wit, her keen intelligence, and her point of view. Her sense of humor was evident in not only her verbal communication, but also in her writings and poems.
She also leaves behind Corban and Chayse, her very special, loving neighbor children. They were the light of her life.
In lieu of flowers, vote for Biden/Harris.
