A member of our "old" Thompson family discovered a death notice for Robin in the TNT and contacted me. I was a member of the Thompson staff from the mid-seventies to the beginning portion of the 1980s; the group from that time period has stayed in touch with one another over the years. This is the time frame during which Robin came to teach at Thompson.
I haven't seen Robin in some time, but I called her within the past month or so--just to check in. She told me about her new four wheeler, and she also spoke of Corban and Chayse. She was upbeat and sounded great!
I remember a snowy day years ago, and Robin called to ask me for a ride to school. I know that i had at least one other person in the car with me. What stood out to me about this is that Robin was from Eastern Washington (so she was more accustomed to driving in snow) and she had a Volkswagon. Meanwhile, I was driving a Pontiac Firebird--not the best car for driving in the snow!?!
Robin had health issues over the years, but she also had grit, determination, and a positive outlook on life!! She will be missed!!
Someone did a lovely job on her obituary. We'd love to know who you are--if for nothing else than to say, "Thank you!!" I have passed it on to those who worked with Robin back in the time frame mentioned above.
By the way, I honored Robin's request. She and I spoke about that situation as well!!
