Roberta always called me her 'adopted' son and herself my 'west coast Mom'. I didn't deserve the title of course- but since Bob and I were both Vietnam Marines I guess she instinctively felt a kindred spirit in me.
I was honored to help her in minor chores and repairs and such... and she made a lovely potato salad that I was somewhat addicted to!
Now that she is beyond mortal cares, and reunited with her loving husband Paul, I know she is truly happy.
