Robert H. Woodall's Obituary
Robert Harold “Woody” Woodall of Lakewood, Washington, passed away April 30, 2013 at home.
Robert was born in Tallassee, Alabama to Harold Rex and Gertrude Wadsworth Woodall on September 3, 1933. He graduated from Tallassee High School in 1951 and attended the University of Alabama. He served twenty years in the Air Force, retiring as major in 1973. He spent 21 years as airfield manager at McChord AFB, retiring in 1995. He was a member of Lakewood Presbyterian Church, serving as elder and treasurer.
Robert is survived by his wife of 52 years Sarah Lane (Mayo) Woodall; his three daughters and their families: Susan Ford (David), Sydney Ford, Steven Ford (Tara High), great-grandson Alek; Elizabeth Bumgarner (Terry), Tara Bumgarner (Vincent Damian), great-grandson Alejandro; Robin Conner (Mark), Jessica Conner, Jeffrey Conner, Jennifer Eilertson (Jon). Additional survivors include his brother Mike Woodall (Gloria), sister-in-law Martha Mayo (Robert Shea), brother-in-law Sterlon Mayo (Doris Resetar) and MANY special nieces, nephews and cousins.
Interment service with full military honors is May 9 at Tahoma National Cemetery at 10 AM. Memorial service at 2 PM at Lakewood Presbyterian Church, 8601 104th St. SW, Lakewood, WA 98498, with Barlow Buescher and Mary McGonigal officiating.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to their beloved friends and extended family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the church’s Memorial Fund.
