I am so sorry that I wasn't available to attend t Bob's memorial. My brohter, Pat, went and brought me back the program.

The Vormestrand family has always been special to me. I remember Bob very well playing sports in high school. He was a great athlete. When I attended school in Sumner Bob's mother and father were our Janitor's and we loved them both. I remember taking cookies and donuts to them often. My husband and I became friends with Lyle and Joan when we all lived in Orting. Even though we didn't see Bob and Charlotte over the years I always asked about them.

Bob was a great friend as we were growing up both in Ashford and in Sumner-We would sit on the roof of his house-he played the left handed guitar and I sang-cowboy songs-mostly Roy Acuff stuff like The Great Speckled Bird-He also lived with our family in Sumner in the summers before moving there where we both would work in the bulb fields-a really great guy and friend-only saw him once after we left Sumner-he came to the grave site of my Dad on the day that he was buried in the Sumner cemetary-a very caring act by a very caring guy##imported-begin##Jim Miller##imported-end##

Charlotte - old names crop up now and then, unfortunately on the obit page. Memories of years ago of you living in my neighborhood. Jerry and I see Myrt & Wes Carlson quite often. They now live in Graham. Jerry & I live at High Cedars Golf Course in Orting for the past 12 yrs. Lived in Sumner and raised our 3 children in the same little house for 39 years. I so remember Bob's Mom as our janitor in school. Not sure if Bob ever worked for Dad at the Bulb/Rhubarb exchange, but it seems liked all of the football players did. So sorry for your loss, but isn't it wonderful to have children and grandchildren to fill the void.

It was a pleasure to know Mr Bob and be his neighbor. He was a kind man with an adorable smile. He enjoyed listening to stories of our family travels.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Vormestrand family at this time and we hope that solace can be found in the fact that Mr Bob is now at peace in a better place.

I (Mike) always enjoyed Bob & his laid back ways. He never got excited over anything, and was so personable and easy going. We can see how he made a great Grandpa.
