Bob,
A kind and patient man. Time has finally ended our wait. We were kept from your side and God is our rights keeper. We abided by your wish to keep you in our hearts. The pain of separation is now due to non earthly powers. We could not bear the torment you endured by continuing to see you.
You were a member of our family more than your own. You broke more bread with us than your own blood, and attended more births and holidays than visits from your own people bearing your last name.
I truly believe that if I wouldn't have called you to dinner you would have starved yourself to death years ago. I remember your mishaps with chain saws and skill saws. It was amazing you survived. You attributed your safety in WWII to how fast you could dig a foxhole, and even faster if they were shooting at you. "Boy could you dig a hole".
Your kindness even in time of war was exactly what made you who you were. The German families that you treated with respect while occupying their homes as a machine gun Sergeant was a credit to our country.
At one time in your life, perhaps not known by many, you were a teacher at Clover Park (Voc/tech) technical College for Electrician classes. When I was a little girl I would sit for hours working on projects, listening to you describe your wiring diagrams, and explaining an open or closed circuit. Your patience in problem solving was inspirational.
Thank you also for the experiences of woodworking, The Table that you and I built as a little girl will be an heirloom for our family.
You were an honorary Goodwater, Not of blood but of heart.
May God forgive those who kept us apart, they have no control now.
For shame, no memorial for a great man with such a loving heart
You raised no children of your own, and yet you were a contribution to the person that I and my sisters became. Thank you. We have held governor Appointments, Senate confirmations, met dignitaries of State at The White House, and traveled to foreign countries.
You can be proud. I will love you always and treasure every memory.##imported-begin##Sandra (Goodwater) Ayesh##imported-end##
