Bob was by far a great man. I met him at 15 working for his Dad at Gils Pizza. He was a very hard working man for his family. We had many laughs together at work, sometimes the only way to make it through very busy times. I now Pray for his family, to find comfort during a difficult time with the Holiday season upon us. Lila and kids, I love you all. Von Lowe- Levy
We only knew Bob for a short time. He and my husband both had LVAD's so they had a lot in common there. He was such a nice man. Always a smile. We probably seen him more at UW other than a couple lunch with he and Lila. Very nice. My prayers are with all of you. We know from losses how hard this is.
Wonderful man, one of my favorite friends. He will be missed. Love to Lila and the rest of the family. I pray you will find peace in your hearts.
Uncle Bob and Aunt Lila. When you think of one, they both come to mind. What a hard loss to an entire family. Your warmth, guidance, humor and stories will greatly be missed. But, will be treasured when I think of you. I will cherish all the metal pieces that my uncle created
I will never forget one of the first times I spent time with Bob and Lila. We were staying in a hotel for Sean and Leesa's wedding. They had this great travel "bar" that folded out. We had such fun!
I want to say something so meaningful and poignant but I know Bob was about the simple beauty in life like the love for his amazing wife and the pride he had for his outstanding family. So what I want to do is thank Bob for his contribution to raising the wonderful person who is Jody and my best friend for life. Jody is without a doubt the person who knows me as well as my own husband knows me, and she knows me better than I have ever known myself. What influence you must have had to help raise a person with the insight your daughter has. This is a legacy you have left behind which will continue to affect me, and by extent will continue to affect my family in the best of ways as Jody continues to be a trusted source of advice for me. In addition, you welcomed me into your beautiful family as I worked at your family business. I gained knowledge and understanding as I worked with my secondary mother, Lila and my desire for an older sister was satisfied as Kerry guided me through different aspects of business and life. Finally, with my exposure to Tod and Sean I found out how fun sibling life could really be as Jody and I were participants in different mischievous happenings initiated by youthful, male minds. I thank you, Mr. Gilbertson, or Bob as you asked to be called, for the meaningful life you led and by the power of all that is right in this world, I pray that you live your eternal life knowing the positive effect you brought into this world.
Mr. Gilbertson was the sweetest and most tolerant "Neighborhood Dad" growing up. Weather it was all of us kids haging out and being loud ALL summer or showing up after a muddy Saturday soccer tournament he was always there. Those memories are priceless. Thank you Mr. Gilbertson.
