Robert Claude Hall's Obituary
Robert C. HallSeptember 29, 1959 - November 5, 2007Memorial Celebration of Life - November 25, 2007Robert C. Hall, resident of Tacoma, Washington was born September 29, 1957 in Seattle Washington. He died peacefully in the early morning of November 5th, 2007 while in Tacoma General Hospital, with his wife Kimberlee of nearly 25 years at his side. Bob had just celebrated his 48th birthday after returning from the Orange County Cancer Institute where he and Kim spent 8 weeks in intensive alternative cancer treatment sessions. He was the toughest fighter and fought hard until he passed away that morning. He never once complained about his affliction, he was determined to beat it and live life the way he enjoyed it!Bob grew up in Brown's Point Tacoma and attended Browns Point Elementary and St. Patrick's Parish in Tacoma. He graduated from Stadium High School in 1978, and then went to work at Crystal Mountain as a chair lift operator. Many of us remember Bob running Chair 5 and later running the High Campbell chair. Following Bob's "Ski Bum" days at Crystal, he took over management of the Fife Shell - Gas Station where he had worked since he was in his early teens. Bob continued the successful business his father Arnold C. Hall had built over the years. Bob and Kim married in 1983 and were going to celebrate their silver anniversary next May. Bob and Kim raised two girls, Alisha Ann Hall (22) and Jamie Lynn Hall (18) who recently graduated from Wilson High School in 2007. Bob and Kim are the also grandparents to Damon - a healthy baby boy of 17 months son of Alisha Ann Hall. After Bob and Kim were married Bob left the Gas Station and started working with his father Arnold as a Mason with Arne Hall Masonry and joined the union becoming a journeyman mason. Bob became a meticulous stone and tile setter, much of his work will be enjoyed by many for a long long time. He was a tremendous father and husband and was a happy "grandfather" when he died. Bob suffered "degenerative disc disease" over the last 4 years which severely impacted Bob's mobility and caused substantial pain in his lower back. Bob was diagnosed with cancer (metastatic esophageal carcinoma) and brain tumors in October 2006, he underwent successful Gamma Knife Brain Surgery as well as an aggressive radiation and chemotherapy routine to battle the cancer. Bob had many interests and hobbies but he was most passionate about skiing, even with his degenerative disc he was really "at home" when he was in the mountains. He really enjoyed skiing in the winter and hiking in the summers. He knew Crystal Mountain well...it was his special place...He also enjoyed most other professional sports, gardening and yardwork, home improvement projects and most importantly being a husband and "family guy" !!Bob is survived by has wife Kimberlee, daughter's Alisha Ann and Jamie Lynn, parents - Arnold and Pauline Hall and older brother Arne Hall as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and friends.A Celebration of Bob's life will be held from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Slavonian Hall at 2306 North 30th Street in Tacoma on November 25, 2007.
