I was fortunate enough to have worked with Bob in Tacoma schools as a peer occupational therapist. I had great respect for Bob's unique skills and his compassion for others. I missed him when he retired and now I will miss him as he takes his final retirement. Blessings to the family.
Sincerely,

I have been blessed to know Bob only a short time in my three years living in Washington. What I will remember most is the wonderful stories he shared and how the Sather family made me one of there own! Bob was a wonderful, careing individual who dedicated his life in helping others. He will remain in our hearts and will never be forgotten.##imported-begin##Trudy Miller##imported-end##
I had the honor & pleasure of working with Bob many years ago at Seward Elm. He was & is, one of the sweetest & honest men I've ever known. The Jebsen-Taylor Hand Function test will always hold a special place in my heart!##imported-begin##Patti Devine##imported-end##
The obituary is wonderful. It reflects a person who enjoyed life. And that is how Bob was at work. I am glad to have known Bob. He was one of the most creative OTs, I've known. He's humor and gentleness also made him one of a kind. I hope the family is finding all the support and love they need during this time of grief.##imported-begin##Lori Doyle-Cook##imported-end##
Dear family and friends,
I am an OT in the Tacoma School District and although I did not work with Bob, he came by Steward after he retired and I was able to meet him. I saw the works of his handcrafting skills and heard the many stories from other staff of how he helped so many children. It was evident by the love of staff that he did excellant service to others. Even though Seward is not there, "Bob's shop" is at another school and still is being used to assist students today. Sorry to hear of the passing of Bob. He and I worked in the Rainier Natl. Park together along with Tim Chapman.
I wish we could have met again over the years but I haven't been too well myself.
Is Tim still living in Vashon Island? We had a lot of fun together working at Sunset Park lookout.
If possible I would like to hear from you at the above e-mail address.
Sincerely

My heart goes out to Bob's family and close friends. It was obvious how much his wife, children and grandchildren meant to him. I first met Bob when I was student teaching at Seward Elementary school in the ortho wing. He was an incredibly friendly guy who made me feel welcome. Later I joined the staff at Seward and, thankfully, Bob was there to help my students with adaptive equiptment that he created in his shop and individualized for each child. Of course whenever he was always there when anything needed to be fixed. Sometimes he would lend a tool. (Oops! Sorry Bob about that hammer that I forgot to return.) Bob touched the heart of many of our students by giving them the oppurtunity to successfully "work" in his shop. For some of our kids this was one of the highlight of their school experience. He was "Mr. Fix-it". Bob left a positive mark on the lives of many people. Rest in Peace Bob. You are one of a kind.##imported-begin##Evelyn Gelegonya-Babare##imported-end##
