Richard DuCommun's Obituary
Richard L. DuCommun, 78, a Tacoma resident all of his life, was welcomed into GodÂ's presence on Friday, October 1, 2004. Â"DickÂ" passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loved ones.Throughout his life, Dick touched the hearts and lives of many through his service in the Navy during WWII, his dedicated concern for the safety of others as a maintenance supervisor at St. Regis (Simpson) Paper Co., and his devotion to his Savior as a longtime member of Resurrection and Bethlehem Lutheran Churches.DickÂ's greatest joys came from spending time with his family, being a Boy Scout leader, hunting and fishing, feeding his birds, woodworking and gardening (espec. tomatoes!).Dick is survived by his wife of 59 years, Betty; his children Steven (Susie), Rodonna, and Paul (Diane); his grandsons Steven, Bryan, and Paul; his great-grandson Jimmy; and many loving family members and friends for life.Dick wanted us all to Â"Blow your nose- pull up your socks and get back into life.Â"Memorials may be sent to Franciscan Hospice and Bethlehem Lutheran Church.Services will be held on Sunday, October 10th at 2pm at Bethlehem Lutheran on 38th and Â"AÂ" St., Tacoma.
