I've known Dick almost my entire life. We grew up 1 block apart, joined the Navy together and worked together at St. Regis after the war where along with our families, we continued our friendship. Mark and I were so sorry to hear of Dick's passing. Growing up, our family shared many happy times with theirs. Dick was always full of great stories that kept us laughing for days. Although I did not know him well, I can comment on the love that his daughter Rodonna had for him. I worked with Rodonna for the last three years and during that time, her family, especially her father, came first. WE always enjoyed seeing Dick while out shopping and catching up on doings of our kids and what was going on in our families. There was no one better to have on call on weekends or nights at the mill than Dick. He bailed me out of trouble more than once while I was a relief tour boss. Both Dick and I were on the "Blue Eyes" shift during on of the labor strikes. Dick always gave 110%. I was sorry to see his name in the obits.##imported-begin##Steve Franson##imported-end##
