Punamai "Mike" Atofau's Obituary
Punamai "Mike" Atofau, 76, passed away on May 1, 2014, in Portland, Oregon. He was born on December 23, 1937, in Leone, American Samoa, one of nine children to Kelemete Atofau and Talimeli (Ugaitafa) Tuitele.
Punamai came to the United States in 1960. He married the love of his life, Nancy Coen, in November of 1961. After coming to the U.S., Punamai worked in construction for a time, and then went on to work for Pan American Airlines. He enjoyed helping and engaging with people so much, that he started a limousine service, which he owned and operated until retiring in 2000.
Our Husband, Dad, and Grandfather will be remembered for his love of God and family first, old cars, anything "antique", watching professional wrestling, and his favorite animals, eagles and tigers, like those at the Point Defiance Zoo.
He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy; children, Nancy (Johnnie) Wilson, Elizabeth Atofau, Anthony Atofau, Cynthia (Tino) Clark, and Maggie (Lene) Amosa; nine grandchildren, Courtnie Wilson, Jourdyn (Jeremy) Penley, Sean Hart, TaQuia (Duana) Clark, Khrystina (Will) Pedro, Khrystian Clark, Kayla Clark, Kendra Clark, Esthlene Amosa, and Naw Aung; and two brothers, Fiavivini and Kelemete Atofau. He was preceded in death by his six siblings.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Monday, May 12, 2014, at Mountain View Funeral Home Celebration of Life Center Aspen Chapel. Visitation will be from 5pm to 8pm, Sunday, May 11, 2014, at the Funeral Home.
