Phyllis always seemed young and positive no matter what and no matter what age. I remember my Mom and Dad talking about how pretty she was when, as a young woman, she moved from Alaska to Washington to marry my cousin. Through the years she continued to be beautiful in her appearance and her spirit. She was the ultimate care giver and a kind soul. She helped her husband, was strong when she lost a dear daughter, cared for her in laws, opened her home to her family, drove family out to see Mom and Dad after Dad's stroke, took care of her mother for years, was the link between families by passing along what was happening within families and their health, and a lot more than I know about.
My daughter and I walked all over the Puyallup Fair trying to find her to say hello...and we found her, with a big smile and in a helping role--assisting people with wheelchairs. I'm glad we did.
On our way to church on 112th, Bonnie and I often said we should stop again. I wish we had.
God bless Phyllis and all of us. If each kind act deserves a diamond in her crown, then Phyllis will need an enormous one.
