Pat was one of my closest friends and “spare” mom. Once my parents started going to Palm
Springs for the winter she would call and say “remember I am here if you need anything while your mom is gone “. We are family !
When I had surgery in January, she called me when we were on the way to check in at 5:45 am just to tell me that it will be ok and she loved me . She was very sick and made sure to call ....
I will miss her not waking through our doors in with a platter of food and smile on her face .. my favorites pigs in a blanket and pickle and cream cheese wraps . I helped her make deviled eggs a few months ago for her family ....first of all I do not like deviled eggs and I am not exactly a perfectionist while cooking.. I filled each egg with her supervision while she made each one look better . At the end , we laughed and said I better stick to pigs in a blanket ...
Towards the end when I was at their house she would tell me that I should go home and make dinner for my family ... I would laugh and tell her my family is fine and they want me to be here . She would just smile and say thank you ..
Pat cared and worried about her family . She fought hard and loved until the end . It was nice getting to know her mom, brothers and sisters throughout this journey ..
She asked me to make sure Shelley and Dean are ok and we promised Zach would never forget her .
She was a true friend and I am lucky to have known her . I am thankful my parents met Pat and Dean and to have shared many great times .. plus Shelley was like a little sister . The Gays and Kaisers always had fun !!
Thank you Dean and Shelley for including us in this journey . I miss her every day and will never forget her .. she would end every conversation with an “ I love you “ and with me
Sniffling ...
I know she is having a margarita in the sky :)
