Dear Mary and Malaika:
Living across the street from you all these years, it has been easy to see what a dedicated husband and father you had in Oliver; he was truly a good man. Our daughter, Brieann, sends her condolences from New York City. I had so many nice conversations with Oliver, but the funniest was when I asked him to help me get some beauty bark for my yard. I asked Oliver to "mention" to my husband, Gus, that it really looked like we needed some new beauty bark over here. Oliver thought it was pretty funny that I was conspiring to get beauty bark!
You are in our prayers. Karen, Gus & Brieann##imported-begin##Karen Fant##imported-end##
I am so sorry to hear of the passing of our VA friend and collegue, Oliver. I retired one year ago after serving 20 yrs civil service. Oliver and I worked in the same American Lake VA buildings. Oliver was always a gentleman and pleasant to everyone who knew him. What a dear sweet man. He often spoke of his pride in his family. We will miss him.
Blessings and Hugs to his family.

Oliver, you have been my loyal friend for 17 years. I read your obituary which revealed what I already knew. That you are a good man who not only loves and cherishes his family, but also loves to cook, fish, and work in the garden. Ollie, your passing leaves me with regret about what should have been but didn't. You know my friend what I'm talking about. You have called me time and time again over the past 2 years to go fishing as we had done for so many years together. Each time I had a reason for not going, mostly not having my boat and truck ready to go and external family concerns. You never gave up on me and as recently as 2 weeks ago we had this discussion with the same outcome but this time I made a promise to you that I would get the truck and boat ready for fishing. Ollie, I got the truck done last Saturday. I didn't know at the time that you took that final journey the day before. You reminded me with your passing that nothing is guarenteed and that missed opportunities can become lost opportunities. Could it be that this is what you believe and why you never gave up on me? Ollie,I will be seeing you again and we WILL go fishing.##imported-begin##Winston Johnson##imported-end##
